HAPPY Part 5 - Blessed are the Peacemakers

July 1, 2019

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

What is peacemaking and why is it so important? Who exactly are we trying to make peace with? And why did Jesus connect “peacemaking” with being a “son of God”?

All that and more in the final installment of our series HAPPY.

God's Most Amazing Plan for Your Life

June 10, 2016

God has a plan for your life.  None of us are called to this life for no reason.  Some of us are called to a family life or priestly life. What we need is to find God’s plan and live accordingly. It is not our will to live in this world but its God’s plan for us to live in this world.  One effective way to observe what God has planned for your life is to see the skills that you have been blessed with such as singing, acting, preaching, caring others, nursing others, being a doctor, nurse, engineer, politicians, priests etc.

Our Vending Machine Who Art in Heaven

May 11, 2016

Today’s post is a recap of the first half of this past Sunday’s message – which unfortunately failed to record.  To get the full message, read the post below and then follow it up by watching the second half here.

Wait a minute…are you serious…Jesus never said that?  Are you sure?  You’re saying God doesn’t want me to be happy?  He doesn’t want me to be fulfilled?  Why would He give me a desire and then refuse to fulfill it???

You may not realize it, but we live in a world that worships happiness.  Yep, you heard me right.  We worship happiness and we have given ourselves permission to pursue it at all costs

Follow Me and I Will Give the Desires of Your Heart - THINGS JESUS NEVER SAID Part 1

May 10, 2016

This past Sunday may have been one of the most powerful and inspired messages I’ve ever preached. I honestly felt like it was God speaking and not me. It was a Spirit-led and Spirit-inspired message if I’ve ever had one, and that I think everyone NEEDS to hear it.

So the natural result of that was that the A/V system decided to go haywire during the talk and we were only able to capture the last 18 minutes of the message on video (sorry sorry sorry).

Happiness is not a feeling, it’s a choice

November 1, 2012

What would make you happy right now?  If you could have anything in the world, what would you ask for right now to make you happy?  New car?  New house?  New job?  New kids?  New wife?  What would it take to make you happy?

Once there were two twin boys celebrating their 8th birthday.  One boy was always very chipper, upbeat and positive; he always had a “half-full” view of life.  The other was the opposite – pessimistic, melancholy, depressed, lived with a “half-empty” view of life.  The parents of these twins became worried about the extreme discrepancy between their children.  They wanted to balance them out a little so they came up with a plan.

For their 8th birthday, the parents were going to fill the room of the second child – the “sad” one – with toys.  Floor to ceiling, wall to wall toys!  All the toys a kid could ever wish for.  And for the other child – the “happy” one – they were going to fill his room with horse manure.  Once again, floor to ceiling, wall to wall manure.

They filled each room with the appropriate “surprise” and then sent the kids up after school.  They waited 15 minutes and then went up.
