The One Habit that Helps Me Grow the Most

What is it?  Is it prayer?  Is it fasting?  Is it Bible reading or quiet time?  What’s the ONE habit that’s most closely associated with my spiritual growth and zeal?

While I hesitate to say that any one habit is more important than another when it comes to spiritual growth (we need to find balance and not be overzealous in any one area to the disregard of another), there's definitely one habit that stands out as most closely linked to my spiritual growth.  

In other words, with regards to this habit: when I’m doing it the most I’m growing the most, and when I’m growing the most I’m doing it the most.

That doesn't mean someone who is smarter than everyone else (although in my case, it's obvious to see how people could make that assumption); it means people who realize that the best way to move their hearts is by engaging their minds.

A Week at An Orthodox Seminary

This week was a trip back in time for me.  Since graduating college in 1998, it's been 17 years since I’ve lived as a student – going to classes, sleeping in a dorm, and best of all, eating cafeteria food for an entire week!

But that’s what this week was for me.  I spent the week at the Antiochian Village in rural western Pennsylvania as part of a seminary program through the Antiochian House of Studies.  The program is mainly a distance study, but does involve one week of residency every year.

So for the past five days, it was like 1998 once again.
