One of my dreams when we started STSA Church back in 2012, was to one day be able to “give back” to the Church at large and help other churches that were trying to get off the ground as well. I have always believed that being self-focused is the death of any church (and any Christian as well) and that to truly be healthy and God-honoring, we’d need to help other churches grow, not just ourselves.
At the time, it was a bit of a far-fetched dream because, simply put, there was too much to do at the local level to be concerned with things outside.
But the time has now come! Say hello to STSA Ministries!
In 2012, STSA Church was established with a mission to “bring an ancient faith to a modern world.” Now, in 2019, STSA Ministries is being established to help YOU do the same thing in your local community. Our mission is to equip churches and church leaders with the tools needed to present the beauty and depth of our ancient Orthodox faith, in a way that’s relevant and applicable to life in the 21st century.
Whether it’s how to build a welcoming environment on Sundays, or how to foster greater participation in Liturgical worship, or how to turn guests into members and members into fully committed volunteers and servants, STSA Ministries is here to lend a helping hand.
We’re constantly getting bombarded with questions and requests to help, and the time has finally come where we’re able to do something about it in a systematic and professional manner.
In other words, we’re finally ready to share what we’ve learned over the past 7 years and give others a chance to benefit from our experience. WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!
So what does that look like?
On September 1, we’ll officially be launching our webpage, STSAministries.org, with two valuable resources that are ready to be used right out of the box. Both resources were developed at STSA Church and we’ve been using them for years. In fact, one of those resources – our six-week Membership Class – is a program that we’ve been using and refining since the very first year at STSA.
And by the grace of God, we’ll continue to package and release new materials as well. Our aim is 2 new resources every 2-3 months.
And that’s not all! In addition to the resources online, we’re going to start with a bang as we launch STSA Ministries with our first ever OPEN HOUSE event on Labor Day weekend!
This is your chance to get a “behind-the-scenes” look at STSA Church and learn more about how we operate. It will include 4 main sessions by yours truly. In addition, you’ll have a chance to sign up for 3 breakout sessions with our staff and lead volunteers speaking specifically about the nuts and bolts of things. Lastly, you'll get the chance to experience a Sunday at STSA from start to finish, including a backstage pass to everything we do: liturgical set up, Well coordination, and even our children's program.

We are confident that through your prayers and your support, our churches can continue to shine the light of Orthodoxy into a modern world that desperately needs it. And in doing so, together, we’ll take another step forward in fulfilling the command of our Lord Jesus Christ to “Go therefore and make disciples of ALL THE NATIONS” (Matthew 28:19).
